Meet Your Teacher

Kathy Dennin-Meagher

hi!

Hello there!  I believe everyone was born creative. Creativity comes in many forms.  We may not say we are artists, however, we still create and make with our hands. I would like to offer you the opportunity to reconnect with your creative side and have a little fun with friends and family.

Art should be something that satisfies the soul and takes on a personal form that is as unique as the individual who creates it.  At Raye of Light, we teach to inspire, we teach fundamentals so that you can continue to learn outside the studio.  Now that you have time to learn, let us help you continue to create for enjoyment.

Kathy is originally from Cincinnati and transplanted to Maryland over 30 years ago.  She has been a summer resident of Ocean View since 2010.  She comes from a talented family of entrepreneurs, painters, musicians,  builders and architects. She will say she is “Born an artist but also formally trained.” She received her BFA in graphic design from the University of Dayton. ” I love color, design, and drawing.  Illustration is my lane for it frees the imagination.

“Bringing art into your day, as a form of creative learning, helps you nurture a personal skill.  You might not have known you had. It’s in there, you just need someone to help you find it.  We love seeing you discover that inner light.

Kathy provides portfolio prep for those preparing for art school and teaches drawing and watercolor in the Lifelong Learning Department at Anne Arundel Community College.

The Studio

The studio name was inspired by the process that happens when you get a creative idea… a light turns on in your head!

Raye of Light Studio has recently evolved from a small, 130-square-foot, colorful teaching studio in Annapolis Maryland and relocated in Delaware. The Studio originally opened its doors in the Annapolis Design District in 2016.

We now are located in the beautiful little coastal town of Ocean View Delaware near Bethany Beach. We are part of Henneghan’s Run, located at 117 Atlantic Avenue, in the back of the blue building.

Raye of Light Studio provides creative opportunities for you to create  Weds. through Saturday in three ways. You can select from a  variety of fun drawing or painting group classes and guest workshops. We weekly schedule a different medium every day we are open. You can set up a time for your group of family or friends to come in and make your own art date and select from any of the classes we offer. Lastly, we go offsite for groups over ten! Invite us to your community or business!  By teaching you to draw, paint, or print on your own or with a friend for a few hours, is our mission.

Now you know, so… get outside of your routine and get creative!
