My Songline / story in aboriginal styled art

Friday March 24 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

$40.00

What is your story?  Did you migrate to southern Delaware for  love of the land, sky and sea…

Let’s tell it through a songline, a painting in acrylic inspired by  aboriginal art.

It is your personal story that we start with an imprint of life ( your hand) followed by a path of color and design.

Songline’ describes the features and directions of travel that were included in a song that had to be sung and memorised for the traveller to know the route to their destination.

“In traditional Aboriginal culture there is the belief in a creation era and creation ancestors. These ancestors traveled across the country creating the landscape, the animals and the law under which human society was to live. The journeys of these ancestors across the country make up a songline.”

Using acrylic paint we will be inspired by colors of nature , birds of the sky , fish of the ocean , stars, sun and everything in-between.

Come learn this art form and create your songline through a relaxing repetition of dots and pattern.

All art materials and instruction included and you may bring in a drink/ snack if you wish.

Aprons are provided ,  unfortunately refunds are not.
